YOU GOT ME RUNNING, GOIN' OUT OF MY MIND,
YOU GOT ME THINKING THAT I'M WASTING MY TIME...
(Electric Light Orchestra - listen here....)

Hello there! I am cheating (gasp, horror...) by showing you a few items I've made over the past two weeks in a scheduled post. Tsk tsk, Promise to try harder next week. But there are extenuating circumstances..I was really poorly last week with a heavy cold, chesty whatsit and then have been down in Wales with my Big Bro clearing out my dad's old bungalow.

Am I forgiven ??

Making a hanging bling bin for someone who doesn't know she's getting it! I hadn't made one of these for ages....

Bling attaching...my favourite part :-)

I've been hooking another cowl for a friend...she's donating some money and toiletries for the refuge.

I dug out some Christmas Stockings from last year to add to the pile of bits and pieces that I'm sending to Karen (Furry Monkey) for her animal charities. These could be filled with doggy treats for under the tree!

Couldn't keep the bunting away for long! I am really enjoying doing this embellished style and it's using up loadsa scraps........

And finally.....

Some more cards for the Refuge. This time from CraftyGasHeadZo....thanks a million, Zoe. As ever your colouring is astonishing and really pretty indeed. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

OK, sorry about this cobbled together post...normal service will be resumed next week.  Normal? Hah - chance would be a fine thing :-)

LIFE MIRRORS A CURE, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE,
WITH PROMISES, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
(Simple Minds)

*KLAXON*   ATTENTION: THIS IS A BUNTING FREE ZONE......
                                         I REPEAT....
THIS IS A BUNTING FREE ZONE!

What you have instead is some fabric for a peg bag request. My bargain £3 a metre fabric is still going strong, though I only have a bare 1.5m left out of the original 4m I bought. But it has been well used and I still love it!

I thought the peg bag needed a good strong colour for the lining.

My fabrics look very dishevelled after the rummaging...s'pose I'd better tidy them up. Sometime soon. Maybe when Halley's Comet next puts in an appearance....

A little treat for myself is this sparkly tub that I bought from a local Fairtrade shop. It was a couple of quid and makes me smile. It's soooooooo shiny. Just call me Mrs Magpie....

I ran myself up another crochet cowl over the past couple of evenings. Honestly, I'm amazed by how quickly crochet grows when you use chunky wool on an 8mm hook. I love the colours in this, it goes really well with a lilac denim jacket I've got.  Note to myself: you CAN'T keep all the cowls you make, you don't have enough space... But this Marble Chunky yarn by James C Brett is really fab, there are many more colours to explore......oh deary dear......

Btw, watch out for a series on BBC4 called The Fabric of Britain. It starts tonight (18th) at 9pm and features knitting. Could be interesting!

I got the beads out to quickly make a thank you gift for someone. It only took 10 minutes to wrangle a handbag charm and it's good colour therapy too, playing with all those beads.

Some more Christmas/general cards for the refuge turned up. Thank you Margaret (Glitter and Glue), they're fab!!

After I took my desk shot, I spun around to show you the other aspect of our 'long room'.  Mr LLJ and I share this space quite amicably...I sew down one end, he does his photography/photoshop/computer wizardry down the other. His technical knowledge is second to none...now if he could only airbrush away a couple of stone off me, it would be perfect...*grin*

Have a great week!

THE WIND MAY BLOW, COME RAIN OR SNOW,
TODAY'S FOR YOU AND ME.
I GAVE MY HEART TO YOU, MY LOVE,
YOU GAVE YOUR HEART TO ME.
(The Pogues)

Today, Mr LLJ and I are celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary! How can that have gone so quickly? Love you loads, Gordon -  you deserve a medal to have put up with me for so long.......... :-)

It's like Groundhog Day at my desk...honestly, I have to apologise because it's yet more bunting in progress.
Someone saw Zara's bunting a couple of weeks ago and now it's Abigail's turn. Early stages, as you can see....

Some more flags cut out ready to use. Deb, look, I'm using those fat quarters you sent me :-)  These will probably go for charity.

Can you tell that this is the wool basket of a woman who has too many things on the go??  You can just see the sleeve of a baby's jacket peeking out; I am knitting this and I'm not enjoying it at all, No Sirree......I keep putting it off and then making myself do a few more rows. Soon, the dreaded sewing together will have to happen...mutter, whinge, whine....

But I LOVED crocheting this cowl. Chunky wool on a 8mm hook. It grows like crazy. Instant gratification or what? I'm going to make a couple more of these to go in the Salisbury Women's Refuge bag.

Talking of which.......

Huge thanks must go to Crafting Queen (Anesha) who sent these fab cards to join all the other Christmassy stuff for the Refuge. They are wonderful, Anesha...I thought you were only making a couple so I am deeply grateful. Thank you x a gazillion..........

And these arrived today (Tuesday) so I can just sneak them onto the post. Thank you Jill (My Muddled Life). Your kindness and generosity are just wonderful!

OK, see you next week, you lovely lot...I may even have something non-bunting to show....*grin*......

AND THE WORLD IS LIKE AN APPLE
WHIRLING SILENTLY IN SPACE
LIKE THE CIRCLES THAT YOU FIND
IN THE WINDMILLS OF YOUR MIND

That's the state of my mind at the moment!  However, when the going gets tough, the tough make bunting... :-)
Making a mess of my desk!

A little owl sitting on a ribbon branch...

An applique doggy....

A button moon....
Et voila, a commission for a friend!

It made me laugh when the word 'dap' flummoxed some of you! It must be a Welsh/South West term...anyhow, I made another bag for a young gal off to Big School....

Attaching the loop for hanging the bag on her peg....

Apparently the young lady in question loves all colours, so that's what I used!

Right, remember this?
'Sorbet? No, it's just the way I'm sitting!'
Well done, Kate T, that made me hoot! A little prizelet will wend its way south to you shortly :-) Can you email your snail mail addy to me please?

And a little request..... I am slowly making items to send, together with donated toiletries, to the Salisbury Women's Refuge in time for Christmas. If any of you who are making cards at the moment have one or two to spare, it would be fab to enclose them in the parcel for the women to use. Thank you xxxx
