WOYWW 451

THANK YOU JUST DOESN'T SEEM ENOUGH....

It's been a week of getting back to normal - well, as normal as is possible in this household!  When the weather has allowed, G and I have been walking more, trying to get our stamina back to pre-lurgy levels, I returned to both bands (and literally was all puffed out at the end of the rehearsal!) and we had a lovely family visit at the weekend. So, it's been a good seven days.

One of my WI friends became a great grandmother for the first time last week, so I thought I'd make some named bunting for her new GD. Anwen is a pretty Welsh name!

Pretty pastel colours make me smile :-D  It's all wrapped up now and ready to give to my friend Gwen at WI this afternoon.

Someone else on the desks was knitting with this yarn last week and it reminded me that I had a spare ball lurking in the stash so I've just started a new ribbed beanie. I always tend to make this style when the item is destined for charity as rib hats tend to fit most size heads. This is a win win project for me - I adore the bright colours and the chunky yarn knits up so quickly, which satisfies an impatient soul like myself!

I popped into the Range in Carmarthen a couple of days ago in order to buy some tissue paper for a project that I'll share next week. Of course, while I was there, a couple of 'essentials' also leapt into my basket :-D  The stripy box is to keep all my cardboard templates in order, the little bows get used a lot for personalised bunting and there is a roll of double sided sticky tape - my first ever - because I'll need it for the tissue project but also with these:

Some more crafty bits and pieces arrived through the post, courtesy of Annie C. I can't believe the amount she sent and am incredibly grateful. I know Annie was having a good clear out of her craftroom anyway but am still bowled over by her generosity. The WI will be having some amazing cards!! Janet, the Treasurer, is a scrapbooker so she is going to help me get started with making cards - we have a few crafty sessions to arrange!  Thank you Annie, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

WOYWWers are the BEST!! It's a fact.

Hope you all have a wonderful week xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I agree that WOYWWers are incredible people! what a lovely pile of goodies for your WI cards. Love the start of the beanie (even if they don't suit me) I am still on a clear out (slowly) but haven't got as far as my craft stuff yet, other than some "dead" pens! Glad you are all slowly getting back to healthy! Helen #1

That bunting is so pretty. Glad to hear that you are feeling much better and are enjoying some walks - just make sure you wrap up warm as this weather just doesn't seem to be able to make up its mind what it wants to do.

WOW to all your bits received, did you get any glue in the end or just the double sided tape? Super banner for Anwen and love how the yarn knits up. BJ#14

Really love the bunting Jan....such pretty pastel fabrics. It’s so good to hear you’re recovered sufficient to be able to craft and play in the band....you need all your puff for that. Jo is laid up with the flu type bug now! There’s so much of it about isn’t there?
Have a great week.
Hugs,

Hello Jan. That lurgy completely takes it out of you doesn't it? Love, love , love the bunting and the name. The wool is gorgeous - very cheery to work with on these darker days. Lovely goodies from Annie! My contribution will be on it's way soon. Hope you get a lot better soon. Anne x #21

Hi Jan, So glad you and your hubby are much better and getting back into normal life.

The bunting is lovely, as is the wool.

I love The Range, although the one I go to often doesn't have things priced.

Happy WOYWW. Firstly, wow wow wow for all the wonderful stash donated by Annie C. You will be able to make loads of cards. I love The Range and can spend ages poking around in there. All the departments are great, and Christmas is especially good when they have all the baubles etc out. I wish our WI met on an afternoon. We have evening meetings, which I struggle with, so I haven't been for ages. Ali x #28

That wool is gorgeous Jan - show us the finished beanie too. I am hoping the lurgy goes soon - I hate being poorly and having had 3 sleepless nights of coughing my energy levels are at an all time low - not like me!

Great you are feeling better and getting out for walks - we've been down to the beach near us a few times, I love being by the sea in winter. The bunting is gorgeous and the name Anwen is so pretty too, not one I've ever heard of. Loving the wool - just right for a dull winter's day.
I laughed at your comment on mine today - you are one latin o'level up on me - my school wasn't posh enough to offer latin, which is lucky really as I certainly wouldn't have been clever enough to learn it - I struggled piteously through French for several years!!
Have a good week, and keep up the strength-building,
Hugs, Diana xx

Hiya Jan, what a fab bundle from Annie! Love the bunting, and that is a very pretty and unusual name. I'm well and truly into sparkle at the moment, lol. Doug looked at me last night when he got back from work and said ' been glittering again? ' lol. I'd got glitter on my forehead, apparently. Love and hugs to you both. XxX

Cute bunting - it's got that lovely, homespun feel to it! Great stash from Annie - you'll have so much fun with that - be careful because the papercrafting bug will bite you and there's no turning back LOL! I instantly recognised some of your new purchases as coming from The Range! It's a good store to have nearby for bits and bobs, though I always think it's more of a "browsing shop" then a "shopping list" type of shop. In other words, you can buy stuff there you didn't know you needed, but you can't always find specific things you're after. Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #7

Hi Jan, glad the parcel arrived safely and thankyou for giving me the motivation to clear out three whole drawers I my room ... somehow other stuff has already rushed in to fill the void hehehe. I can't do WOYWW this week as away for a few days but just popping in for a quick nosey. Love your beanie beginnings, gorgeous colours ! Have a fun week xx

Got a touch of deja vu! Just been on Shaz's blog and felt I had seen it before and it was pre Christmas, now I know for certain I have read your blog post previously. Wonder if I read it and then moved on for some reason.
Wish I lived closer so we could go through my stuff and I could help you make some cards. Over here the distance between us is nothing, at home it is a lot. You have some great stuff there from Annie so will no doubt make lots and hopefully raise lots.
Take care and keep on walking on that lovely beach with that clean air.
Loadsa Hugs 7 Thanks for visiting me whilst I was sleeping over The Pond xxxxxxxxxx

I love your pretty bunting, which is going to be such a joy for the recipient! Lots of gorgeous projects going on this week, Jan. Thank you for your visit and your nice comment - it is lovely to be back in the studio again and it's doing me more good than I can say! I haven't managed it for the last couple of days because I've had a lot on my plate again and I'm very tired now. Good news - my hubby is out of plaster at last and has a boot for the next fortnight, after which he will be able to drive again, and to look after me after my operation. My pre-assessment appointment went very well today and I'm seeing the anaesthetist next week, and hopefully an operation date will soon be forthcoming.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Jan! Looks like you have lots of crafting fun ahead! The bunting you made is precious, sure to be treasured! And isn't it wonderful, with knitting, that you can get almost more pleasure from the process than the end result? Awesome! Thank you for your concern about my health,I do feel better today, although yesterday afternoon was spent in Emerg. I'm fine now, hopefully will stay that way! Have a great week, Lindart #37
